Milestones: walking

Our baby is growing up so fast. Near the end of February she tottered a couple of tentative steps from me to Lynn.

Last weekend, she walked right across Jason and Kelly's kitchen floor. You can see for yourself if you don't believe me!

Update:

By popular demand, I've posted this video on Google Video. No more worries about codecs! Of course, Google owns me: my searches, my email, my programming projects, my RSS feeds, and now my videos. Curse them for being so competent!

hmm..which codec do i need to view the video (XP)?

Hey Keith!

Umm, well... I only tested this on Linux at first, so you would have needed to download and install the open source video player MPlayer (from http://mplayer.hu, you know you can trust the Hungarians!). That's what you get for dealing with a video encoding newbie like me.

However, given that 99% of the people reading this will be running Windows, I've re-encoded the video to use the Xvid codec. If your video player doesn't prompt you, you can download it from http://www.xvid.org. Yep, it's open source too.

well, you'll be happy to know that i at least have a linux partition with kubuntu currently installed and dual-booting on my computer. i'm just working on finding linux replacements for my usual software programs - that's not much of a problem, but i am having trouble playing my mp3s though.

anyways, enough geek talk.

good to see amber again! glad to see she is doing well.

Dan -- that's really cool news! Soon you'll be running after her, pulling her down from furniture -- all that great stuff....

BTW -- might I suggest using Google video to upload the movies in the future -- then no worries about the viewing audience's local application!
