- 1. Untar the DB2 client package.
bash$ tar xzf FP9_MI00117_RTCL.tar bash$ cd rtcl
- 2. As root, start the setup script.
bash$ su -c "./db2setup"
- 3. Ensure you select the application development support option.
- 4. Create a DB2 instance. This creates a new user account on your system.
The DB2 instance contains the DB2 client environment, which is necessary for your Web server to support access to Apache Derby.
